Welcome Otto to our DTAS, LLC Family

For those of you who have been wondering where I’ve been the past few weeks, here’s your answer. If you know me personally, you know that Spirit always plays a starring role in what drives me toward the path that isn’t necessarily the route I have planned for myself. You also KNOW that Spirit’s path for me is without a doubt the most fulfilling one once I’ve put my stubborn will aside and decide to flow with the energy of moving forward with the guidance I’m given.

This little man came into my life when I was fortunate enough to meet him at only 2 1/2 weeks old. He chose me on several occasions despite the fact I was looking for a “petite female black lab” and he was certainly anything but that. I’d received the message that I would be getting a male puppy who would become a big boy, but despite the fact that he stole my heart immediately, I had “my route” planned out and I had no intention of shifting it. With each visit I made, he worked his charm and soon my heart was his completely! As I watched his personality develop, I realized this was a special soul who not only had the large feet a petite female would not possess but he also had a huge loving heart and eyes that looked right to your soul.

His litter name was Otto and was inspired by the marking of a white tuft of fur on his chest in the shape of a crescent moon. Sara, his first human mom, researched its symbolism and decided on the name after finding it was associated with a dream of an individual from the Ottoman Empire who thought crescent moons were good omens. Though I had other names picked out, this one was perfect and so Otto he remains!

As other signs of validation that Otto was to be a part of the Temm family appeared, so did those that indicated he’d also become a part of the Donna Temm Alternative Solutions family. Before even bringing him home, I contacted the landlord of the building where I see clients and asked permission to bring him into work with me. It was an overwhelmingly supportive YES and the search for a bit larger office within the building to accommodate his presence ensued.

We are currently working on manners and how to be a gentleman and he is doing so well. We will soon begin his journey to becoming a therapy dog and, therefore, a DTAS, LLC employee! My business advisor never saw this twist coming after years of encouraging me to hire employees to grow my business. He has known me long enough to know to expect the unexpected.

When COVID restrictions and state mandates allow and when all of you currently receiving remote sessions as well as those of you looking forward to your in-person sessions once again walk through DTAS, LLC’s doors, be ready for TWO welcoming souls who will be over-the-crescent-moon-happy to see you!
